Dear brothers and sisters,
It has now been about 3 weeks since Danny was released from the hospital. The last few days he begun feeling poorly again and as it turns out he has pneumonia again. At the moment he is being treated orally at home, with antibiotics, and we are praying and hoping he will not have to be admitted to the hospital again.
After several different attempts, we surprisingly managed to get him an appointment with a specialist with whom we really wanted to meet and was recommended to us. So far we have not been successful in getting him an appointment with him and the first available appointment was to be only in August (!) and even then it would have been conducted as a private doctor’s visit and not covered by our medical insurance.
This week, after a time of prayer and a short conversation with this professor’s secretary, an appointment was set for February 24th (!!!) and through our national medical insurance, so the visit is considered a regular doctor’s visit and not private session, to which we are so thankful to God for.
This appointment is a pre operation counseling with that professor and three other doctors who will all examine Danny and together will decide on the recourse of treatment for him. We are praying for wisdom on their part and for a breakthrough.
In the coming two weeks he has other appointments for a pain clinic, orthopedic specialist, diabetes specialist and others. It is still not clear if the pain he is experiencing is a result of the problem with his back or whether it is nerve pain as result of his diabetes. We are hoping that all the parts of this puzzle will all soon come together into one clear picture so that we can put an end to all the question marks and so that Danny can receive the proper medical treatment.
More and more it is becoming clear to us that Danny can no longer work nights. It has been a month and a half since he got sick and we are standing embarrassed in the face of a new financial reality that has hit us head on, and yet we are thankful to God for His continued faithfulness and provision in this complicated period of time in our lives.
We believe that we are to continue and focus on our calling. There are days in which my hands are full with the work of service the Lord has called me to from sunup to the wee hours of the night. Over the years, since I begun working in full time ministry, I have been doing my work without pay and Danny was the one taking care of our income. The way things are right now, due to Danny’s bad health, I continue to do my work believing this is what God wants for us to do. Our hearts are with the people of Zion, with the orphans, the widows, the single-parent families, the needy and the lost sheep of the house of Israel. We continuously proclaim that “for the sake of Zion we will not keep silent and for Jerusalem we will not remain quiet” (Is. 62:1).
We are seeking God’s face about all this and are thankful for your prayers for us. If you have a word of wisdom for us, please share it with us.
Thank you for your interest, prayers, support and love.
In God’s love,
Tammy.
A little note from Danny:
When all is nice and well, routine and peaceful, we serve the Lord and try to glorify His name. But what happens when everything falls apart, when persecution comes; when we hurt and are uncomfortable; when we are facing financial difficulties?
Do we then, of all times, choose to focus on our own personal lives difficulties?
Lately I was hospitalized and had the opportunity to share the Gospel with other patients. It was not easy and even tempting to just bury my head in my sheets, but that was not an option given to me. and 2 people received the lord.
God has not promised us a garden of roses but persecutions! The harder the trials and troubles we are facing hard, the more we are to give of ourselves and in return receive of Him.
We would like to encourage you – be strong, our brethren, and work in the power of the Holy Spirit!
Let us put a smile on God’s face and make His heart rejoice as He observes us serving Him and bringing glory to His name.
With His love,
Danny.
